Information we handle

• Game room information: the display name you choose, room and member identifiers, a room code, and a room-specific credential. The planned service stores a hash of that credential rather than the credential itself. It also handles your role, readiness, game actions, status, and results.
• Location: precise device coordinates, their sample time, and reported accuracy, when needed for lobby readiness and an active round. The service needs the latest location to check the play zone and apply the game's visibility rules.
• Technical information: our hosting provider may process connection information such as IP address, device or browser details, request times, and errors to deliver and secure the website or service. This website does not request your location or include advertising or analytics scripts.
• Support messages: if you email us, we receive the address and the information you choose to include.

The first game release is planned without accounts, email sign-up, contact uploads, microphone or camera collection, or payments.

How location is used and shared in a game

Location is used to confirm lobby readiness and run the game. In the lobby, location is used to check whether a player is ready inside the play zone; other players see readiness, not lobby coordinates. Location sharing for an active round begins only after you choose to play and grant the required iPhone location permission. The planned game uses location during the round even while the phone is locked. It does not use background location merely because you are browsing the app.

Who can see locations depends on the game phase and role:

• During the three-minute head start, other players' positions are hidden.
• During the hunt, active players can see current hunter positions. Hunters receive runner location snapshots every two minutes. A runner who stays outside the play zone beyond the 30-second grace period becomes visible live to hunters. Runners cannot see other runners' positions.
• Tagged or forfeited players lose access to fresh map locations. A removed player loses access to the room. Only room members can access its game information.

The game service must process the latest coordinates to apply these rules; they are not hidden from the service itself. Information already shown to another player may be remembered or captured, and we cannot remove a screenshot or memory from that person's device. Your location sharing ends when the round ends or is abandoned, or when you leave, are removed, or the round deadline passes. You can revoke iPhone location access in Settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services. Disabling access may prevent you from playing. Uninstalling the app does not itself erase information already sent to the service.

How we use information

We use information to operate and synchronize private games, verify readiness and play-zone rules, show the locations permitted by each game phase, reconnect and authorize room members, protect the service from abuse, and respond to support requests. The first release is planned without advertising, sale of personal information, behavioral tracking, or marketing use of game location.

Service providers and other disclosures

The planned game service uses Cloudflare to host and process room data. The iPhone app uses Apple MapKit to display maps. App Store and Google Play links lead to services operated by Apple and Google, whose own privacy practices apply when you use them. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or address safety, security, or abuse concerns.

How long information is kept

The planned service expires an unused lobby after one hour of inactivity. When a round ends or is abandoned, it removes latest coordinates and location reveals. Non-location results are kept for 24 hours, then the room is cleaned up. The game is not designed to keep a location trail or a cross-game leaderboard. Cloudflare recovery copies may persist for up to 30 days; that provider recovery period is separate from deletion of live room data.

Technical and support records may be kept as needed for service security, support, or legal purposes. Routine operational logs are not intended to contain raw coordinates or room credentials. Your display-name preference is planned to be stored in app settings on your device; room credentials are planned for secure device storage.

Security and your choices

The planned service uses encrypted connections and room-specific credentials with access rules. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. You can stop sharing location by leaving the game or revoking location permission in iPhone Settings. You can email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or to object to or withdraw from a use where applicable. We may need enough information to verify the room or request, such as a room code, display name, or approximate date; do not send a room credential or your coordinates by email.

Your privacy rights depend on the laws that apply to you and may have exceptions. You may also have the right to complain to your local privacy or data protection authority.

Age and policy changes

GUHandS is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided information, contact us so we can review it.

We will update the date above when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide notice before applying them to new uses or requesting new permissions where required.
